TENSIONS HIGH ON DAY 2 OF PROTEST AT ERITREAN FESTIVAL
An Eritrean cultural festival held in Toronto, Canada has been cancelled after violent protests broke out between attendees and opponents of the Eritrean government.
Protesters say proceeds of the festival are used to support the Eritrean government, described by human rights groups as one of the world’s most repressive regimes. Eritrean anti-government protesters also stormed a festival in Sweden earlier this month.
