Nakaseke’s Hannah Karema crowned Miss Uganda 2023-24

 

Newly crowned Miss Uganda Hannah Karema Tumukunde poses for a photo alongside her competitors during the grand finale on March 18 in Kampala.
The coronation night of Miss Uganda 2023/24 was held on Saturday, 18th March 2023 at UMA Multipurpose Hall where Hannah Karema Tumukunde from Nakaseke District was crowned the new winner. The national pageant was last held in 2019 and was not held for the last three years due to covid-19.
Hannah won the hearts of the judges with her poise, confidence, and intelligence. For winning this competition, Karema received a Toyota Wish car and also the chance to represent Uganda in the Miss Elite pageant happening later this year in Egypt after she also won Miss Popularity.

Also at the finale, artiste Cindy's sister Whitney Martha Ademun was adjudged as the first runner-up while Prossy Agwang was adjudged as the second runner-up. Jerusha Muwanguzi and Jesca Sserwadda finished the Top 5.

The finale also saw musical performances from artists like Fenon's Vamos, B2C, Jackie Chandiru and Levixone. Mitch Egwang and Anita Fabiola were the emcees for the day while Fenon events were behind the production including stage, sound and lighting.


Hannah succeeds and was crowned by Elizabeth Bagaya who took over from Oliver Nakakande in April 2021 after the latter left the country to pursue her studies. Tumukunde will represent Uganda in the upcoming 71st Miss World 2023 in UAE in May 2023.
